TREND: A Non-Traditional 4th of July

Celebration for the Fourth of July holiday is finally here! This weekend represents the traditional American lifestyle with warm summer nights, vibrant fireworks, and an abundance of food. No matter where your eyes wander this weekend, the classic colors of red, white, and blue are visible everywhere. Seeing these colors in decorations or clothing can be a little overwhelming and wearing a flag is rarely justifiable. So why blend in this holiday with your outfit when it is the perfect time to stand out of the crowd? Nothing outrageous is necessary, but instead of making red, white, and blue your focal point, try accenting the colors instead.

A full outfit that is color blocked in a red top and a pair of navy bottoms is a bit boring. By adding minimal touches of the colors you can achieve a unique, put-together look like this Fashionista did. The main focus of her outfit is the amazing paisley harem pants purchased from H&M. These style of pants are coming back from the late 1980’s and have been seen on celebrities like Naomi Campbell and Rihanna. Even though these pants are a shade of orange, the pattern incorporates a dark navy print and is paired with a subtle white ruffled tank to pull it all together. This Fashionista added a striped belt and vintage flats that are the perfect accents because they are both shades of blue.

To get this Fashonista’s look for this holiday, try these cropped harem pants with this tie-dye top. Even though it’s the Fourth of July, don’t be scared to be fashion forward. Just make sure you do it with a twist of the holiday spirit.
