With the capricious weather in New York, it’s hard to really ever know what to wear. For all of those who are unfamiliar with the city’s recent weather, let me break it down. There were two days last week in the high 80s. It’s October, it’s New York. This does not happen. As for rainy days? They also have a way of sneaking up on us. Regardless, city girls usually come prepared and dress properly in anticipation of anything.
Today’s Fashionista sports her black, Hunter wellies proudly despite the lack of rain. She realizes that her boots are not only good for practical purposes (if need be), but also extremely chic. In fact, the boots seem to enhance her outfit; they tie in with both her polka-dotted tights and the black accents on her long-sleeve shirt. They certainly do not scream, “ugly rain-boots!”
This Fashionista makes the “rain-boot” look seem effortless, however I can understand people’s wariness. First, when purchasing your very own pair of rain-boots — I recommend you opt for a solid color or something neutral. Patterns can be overwhelming and hard to coordinate with. Now for the actual styling, there are many ways for you to pull the look off. Whether you wear your boots with tights, a mini-dress or with cute jeans, the idea is to keep it simple. Don’t go crazy with other accessories — this should be your main one. If you want to add light jewelry or a belt, that won’t hurt.
So choose well, style right and you’ll be in the clear. These boots are a great way to spruce up your look… rain or shine.
