A killer heat wave has swept across New England and as much as we’d all love to wear nothing but sunglasses and a bikini, let’s face it, that is not realistic. Most places take the “no shoes, no shirt, no service” motto to heart, so what’s the best way to beat this 100-degree weather? Dresses! Sundresses, in my opinion, are the next best thing to wear, especially since they’re simple.

This Fashionista is wearing a simple red sundress and wore a necklace and bracelets to up dress her look. Dresses are great because they come in different styles, patterns and colors. I think red is a good summer choice because it’s bold but not too overwhelming. For someone who isn’t big on bright colors, red or a pale pink would be great options. Personally I’m a sucker for anything that comes in any shade of blue and the brighter the color, the better.

This Fashionista keeps her accessories simple. Since all  of the jewelry she is wearing is gold she decided to incorporate tan sandals with gold sequins on the top. I think it’s a good idea to keep your accessories the same color to help your outfit flow better when you’re wearing simple solids. She’s also wearing simple gold bangles that are different shapes and patterns, which make them stand out. The last accessory this Fashionista added is a gold necklace with a rose pendant attached to the end. The necklace is simple and doesn’t overwhelm her look. The rose also adds extra girlyness to the outfit. It may be a billion degrees outside but remember, you can beat the heat by keeping your outfits simple!

Spotted: Dresses will always be an essential part of our wardrobes. Camila and marc incorporated a bunch of dresses in their resort 2014 line!
