ACCESSORIES REPORT: Seeing Red

The color red can conveyy love, anger and passion. It’s easily the most eye-catching color in the entire color wheel. Red accessories are essential to any Fashionista or Fashionisto’s closet. There are many ways to incorporate red into your outfit whether it is shoes, bags or jewelry.

This Fashionista paired her classic white button-down and dark blue skinny jeans with striking red flats. I love that her outfit is simple, but she adds a modern pop of color with her shoes. Flats are ideal for school because they are extremely comfortable and they go with just about anything. These smoking slippers from DV by Dolce Vita are the perfect shade of red and also have a trendy metal cap toe.  They would look great paired with an outfit similar to our Fashionista’s. Another classic red shoe are these sneakers from Converse. Not only are they red but they’re also sparkly! What girl doesn’t love some sparkle? You can dress these down or even wear these with a cute black sundress. And if you like to plan your Halloween costume several months ahead of time, then these would make the perfect accessory to your modern Dorothy costume.

This Fashionista kept the red-hot trend going with her Herschel Backpack. Red is a perfect color for a backpack because it’s unique and stands out from the sea of neutral colored backpacks that we are so accustomed to seeing.  I mentioned earlier that red is known as the color of love. From red hearts to red roses, these earrings from NASTY GAL would be a great addition to a date-night outfit or even out with friends.

Spotted: Alexis Mabille’s gorgeous fall 2013 couture collection mostly consisted of pastel pumps, but there was a couple of looks with a red pump peeping out of the long trains.
