ACCESSORIES REPORT: Summer Scarves

Every fashion icon has their own signature look or style. For Rachel Zoe, it’s her oversized sunglasses and chunky jewelry. For Victoria Beckham, it’s smaller defined clutches and necklaces. For Lady Gaga, it’s over the top statement wigs, nails and even gloves. For you, it might be something simpler, but it’s important to find a look or piece you love.

This Fashionista was spotted wearing a multicolored paisley infinity scarf. This accessory made a statement when paired with white shorts and a black tank. Rather than grabbing for a sweater or jacket, she grabbed for a scarf! This Fashionista could swap the white shorts for jeans and add a light sweater to be ready for fall. Wearing a scarf is a fun and flirty way to be different and it can easily transition your outfit from drab to fab.

Scarves can make a statement anytime and anywhere. Like this Fashionista, many others have been everywhere rocking their own personal favorites. This season patterned and printed scarves are very in style. It’s fun to mix and match the patterns with your outfit and jewelry. They are the perfect way to be trendy and most importantly keep you just a little bit warmer. Whether you’re working in a chilly office or out dining by the water, a scarf can easily provide a little warmth when it is too hot for a jacket. Infinity scarves are a favorite of mine because you don’t have to worry about which way to twist turn and fold your scarf; just wrap it around once or twice and you’re ready to go.

Whether you’re going to class in the springtime or bundling up to keep warm in the winter, a scarf is the perfect accessory to finish off your outfit. If you’re buying new scarves look for ones that can transition from season to season so you can use them all year round. And hey, you never know, a scarf could be your very own statement accessory!

Spotted: Kenzo used scarves to complete their looks for their fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection.
