It has been a dark, dark week here for me and many other students at Boston University. Days were filled with midterms for every class, lots of junk food and long library sessions. When you’re in a library for an entire week it’s hard to spot a good outfit… mainly because when you’re studying your first notion is to put on a pair of big sweatpants and a cozy sweatshirt and call it a day.
To my great surprise, I spotted this Fashionisto on his way into the library. Although his outfit looks business casual and way too formal to be a study ensemble, do not be alarmed. Instead of pairing his blazer with a button down he simply chose a gray V-neck, so that if he took his jacket off inside, the outfit could transform into something much more comfortable for studying. His dark wash jeans cuffed at the ankles are a great way to show off his caramel colored loafers. To piece it all together and to hone his inner nerd to ace those midterms, this Fashionisto wore black half-rimmed glasses.
If that isn’t enough, this Fashionisto took his outfit to one more level. Tucking in the pocket square to his blazer pocket adds a pop of color in his dark toned outfit and shows off his individuality with a paisley print. If you’d like to try this look, check out J.Crew for some options, preferably this gingham one. For something more subtle, try this Armani one.
Not to worry Fashionistas because menswear is trending for you too! Check out this Yigal Azrouël fashion show where pocket squares are prominent in these women’s wardrobes. Get creative and incorporate fun colors and twists on a very simple addition to any look!
