Tilda Swinton's fur-clad role as the cunning witch in the Chronicles of Narnia film has made me a bit leery of adding fur to my wardrobe. However, fur (predominantly faux) seems to be a key component of many individuals' fashion uniforms. Most often, I see faux fur coats and/or vests paired with skinny jeans for a quick and chic cold weather look.

This Fashionista's great faux fur look has me reconsidering the trend. She wore a faux fur coat with a camel turtleneck sweater, skinny jeans and boots. The coat acted as a statement piece that glamorized a simple outfit. For those interested in wearing faux fur start by looking online. You'll find everything from a faux fur hoodie on Etsy to parkas lined with fur. Because fur tends to have an overstated effect, keep the remainder of your outfit low-key when wearing faux fur. However, if you ever feel like making a dramatic show, pair a fur coat with red colored clothing, like vividly scarlet skinny jeans or scarves. You'll stand out immediately.

Once this season ushers in warmer weather, swap your faux fur coat to a faux fur vest. Not only will you keep warm without sweating, you'll be ethical while looking classy.
