ACCESSORIES REPORT: I Wear My Sunglasses In Fall

A big part of being a CollegeFashionista is learning how to take your favorite pieces and make them work across seasons. We pair maxi skirts with leather jackets. We layer sweaters over mini dresses. We throw on tights with denim shorts. With a few simple changes, a summer piece is conveniently transformed into your favorite fall number.

But some things don’t require so much creativity and thought to transform from season to season. The best example of this: sunglasses. Most often thought of as a beach essential, I wear my sunglasses year round like this Fashionista. Just because there isn’t sand between your toes or 90-degree temperatures beating down your back doesn’t mean the sun isn’t shining. Wearing sunglasses during fall and winter is not only a smart fashion choice, but also a smart choice to ward off fine lines and wrinkles later on in life.

This Fashionista’s oversized pair is perfect for the season. The tortious frame echoes the warm browns, taupes and caramels of her outfit. The dark purple lenses are a great complement to her wine colored skirt. The shape and size of the frame is the cherry on top of a very 70s-inspired, bohemian-chic look.

Spotted: Prada always knocks it out of the park with their fashion-forward sunglasses. This pair from the fashion house's spring/summer 2013 show is on the top of my wish list for the holidays.
