ACCESSORIES REPORT: I’d Put A Ring On It

What’s black and bold and red all over? Some might say a newspaper — but today’s Fashionista takes a different approach, using black and bold accessories to create a classic approach to a modern outfit. She completes the look with a statement red lipstick.

I have always been a black and navy girl at heart — I have to consciously force myself to purchase color so my closet doesn’t completely replicate a mourner’s. This Fashionista, however, shows that some basic black pieces remain irreplaceable. Cross-body bags are, of course, a Fashionista’s go-to for shopping days in the city. This bohemian cross-body bag complements the relaxed, modern feel of her top.

This Fashionista is also on par with the latest jewelry trends. Her golden bib necklace works for both a casual outfit, such as this one, or dressed up with a little black dress for a night out. If you do feel like adding color, you can try an even bolder bib in red and turquoise from NASTY GAL.

Statement rings are another one of my latest obsessions. I love the bulky rose in a deep maroon, a darker hue of her bold lipstick. Her gold ring is an awesome trendy piece: made with two bands, they can be worn on separate fingers so that the chain spreads over your hand, or on the same finger (as pictured) to let the chain fall slightly. Another modern twist on a simple ring is the “handpiece“: a single piece of jewelry that connects across your wrist. Follow this Fashionista’s beautiful job of sporting both a trendy necklace and ring by wearing both in a gold shade.
