As spring quickly approaches and the sandals, wedges and flip-flops are pulled out from the back of our closets, we Fashionistas migrate to the nail salons to get our pedicure and manicure fixes. There is nothing worse then a cute pair of gladiators accompanied by bare toes or fingers that have not seen a new coat in quite sometime. For this spring, pastels are a largely featured color palette with colors like mint green (huge this season!). Subtle and romantic, these softer shades are great for spring manicures and pedicures. And if you like these charming colors enough, maybe even your wardrobe!
With that in mind this week’s Fashionista is off to a good start with her pastels for spring. Her periwinkle cardigan along with her nails, painted in O.P.I’s Moon over Mumbai, a soft shade of purplish-gray, is a lovely sedge way from the deeper darker colors of winter. There are many brands and colors to choose from when it comes to pastel nail lacquers. If you are an O.P.I kind of Fashionista then they can offer you quite the selection with their Soft Shades collection, featuring a range of colors from a pearl white to a light jade green. Another great nail polish brand is Essie. Their new spring collection features some great pastels like their light shimmery lavender but also feature some brighter orange and pink pastels. If Essie and O.P.I aren’t your ideal nail polishes, drug-store brands like Revlon and Sally Hansen can offer some fabulous options for spring as well.
Whatever color you decide to adorn your nails with for this upcoming spring, you can’t go wrong with pastels. Just remember: don’t leave those fingers and toes bare at the beaches or we’ll have other things to talk about!
