Fall 2012 marks the return of all things ladylike from structured bags to pointy heels and the wedge. Speaking of ladylike, this Fashionista made me do a double take in order to process her impeccable style. Dressed in a long sleeve sheer polka dot blouse and a pleated two-toned skirt, she took advantage of the 20 degree weather in the middle of fall and she did not fail.
Initially drawn to her attire, I was even more impressed with her wedged booties that resemble a pair by Jean-Michel Cazabat that have been the object of my obsession for the past two weeks. The budget friendly Fashionista doesn’t have to dig too deep in her purse to get a similar pair because ALDO has some that are bound to please.
Wedges are the quintessential shoe, the perfect and basic staple to have in a shoe arsenal. They are easy to walk in and one doesn’t have to sacrifice style for function. Wedges are versatile; they look good with anything from fun, flirty party dresses to a casual jeans and a T-shirt. Wedges can be made to look as fashionable as a six inch stiletto minus the pain and intimidation. Wedges are also a great starter shoe for those of us who have yet to master the art of walking in high heels because they support your feet, save your ankles and you still manage to look like a lady.
Spotted: Among wedges that have appeared on the runway is this amazing ivory pair from Chloé for fall 2012 at Paris Fashion Week.
