ACCESSORIES REPORT: Parisian Edge

There is nothing more romantic than a stroll through Paris; with macrons, architecture, bakeries and cheese shops, the fabulous list can go on and on. Of course, Richmond is nowhere near that Parisian glamor, but we do have artistic elements that truly make us unique. However, there is no better way to capture a little old school Parisian style than with a beret.

Even though the French stopped wearing berets years ago, it still serves as an ultra-adorable fashion accessory here in the United States. When I saw this week’s CollegeFashionista, the first thing I spotted was her bold blue beret. Not only does this color make her stand out, but it’s a cool tone color that matches perfectly with the chilly winter season.

When I asked her where she bought her beret, she told me she found it while thrift store shopping! I have mentioned it before and I will definitely mention it again, fellow Fashionistas/os, sometimes the greatest fashion finds and steals are right in the thrift stores. And do not forget that sometimes you can snag an amazing piece for your wardrobe right from your parents’ closet, which how this Fashionista got her earrings.

Now, for the rest of her outfit; I just loved her utility inspired trench coat and how it gives her look an edge. It definitely mixes both the French world and Richmond’s flavors together to create a chic yet edgy aura. Sometimes you really can have the best of both worlds.

Spotted: Berets were incorporated in Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall 2012 collection.
