ACCESSORIES REPORT: Singing in the Rain

Winter is usually associated with colors like gray, brown, dark-blue or black that make sometimes the cold season look very sad. However, this Fashionista has a colorful approach to Chicago’s freezing weather and she decided to add some red in her look that really stands out.

As rain and snow are frequent in this period of the year, she could not get out without an umbrella that she accurately matched with her lovely-heavy-red coat. Umbrellas are a must-have this season and fashion designers have amazing collections that will match every Fashionista’s taste. On Umbrellas.net there are many collections that will leave you breathless. If you are one of those people that never want to bother carrying an umbrella, check out Pasotti’s collection and you will change your mind.

Many umbrella creations add details to this accessory that are absolutely risky and beautiful. Purple Swarovski is a gorgeous umbrella covered by crystals. Pink Lace is embellished by a romantic lace all around the diameter of the umbrella. The collection that Galleria proposes is inspired by modern art masterpieces and natural landscapes. Getting out with an umbrella inspired by Degas’ Ballet Lessons will make every Fashionista jealous. The most particular pieces are: Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Gustave Caillebrotte’s Paris Street; Rainy Day and Monet’s Poppy Field.

This Fashionista also chose the best shoes for her look. Her brown tall boots are perfect for her street style outfit and they also help keep her feet warm and dry. This kind of boots have been very trendy this season. Macy’s proposes many pairs from several brands and different prices, like Roxy Seattle Boots. This Fashionista’s boots match her brown hat that is absolutely appropriate with her style.

Spotted: Umbrellas are usually not presented on runways, but sometimes fashion designers make special shows to introduce their umbrella’s collections, like Lily Umbrella.

ACCESSORIES REPORT: Singing in the Rain

The time for umbrellas and rain boots has come to SU's campus, but who says you can't look stylish in rainy weather? Just because the weather is gloomy does not mean you should feel the need to dress down. Perk up your spirit and mood by styling your outfit with the most fashionable items you can wear in the rain. I spotted today's Fashionista not only because of her bright red umbrella but also because of her stylish aura in the rain. I caught sight of her ankle-length white rain boots, which matched her overall look. Although I will probably feel guilty saying this later on, let's just say goodbye to Hunter Boots this rainy season. The boots' bright, playful colors sure do cover up the gloominess, but I think we can all try to minimize the whole rain boot phenomenon and go for a more blended casual boot feel, like what this Fashionista is wearing.

The other important item for the rain is the raincoat. No, not one of those yellow raincoats. Wearing a rain trench coat is always a perfect way to attain style. It will keep you dry and fashionable at the same time. Styling the coat with other accessories, like belts, can create the perfect combination. It is fashion-forward to always be ready for whatever season comes your way, so don't get drenched and ruin your day!

Spotted: Burberry Prorsum featured runway rain at the fall and winter 2011 menswear show at Milan Fashion Week.
