As I saw this Fashionista walking on campus, I noticed how well her makeup matched with her outfit. She was wearing orange eye shadow and an orange top along with brown boots, complimenting her top. Her outfit was the perfect fall look incorporating the orange and brown colors as well as tones of green and yellow in the details of her shirt.

Her makeup was very well done. Her face looked flawless as it sparkled from her cheeks to her eyes. It was so simple and perfect for an everyday look. The color she used was soft enough to make the color stand out, but not excessively. She lightly outlined her eyes with eyeliner on her bottom lashes and slightly thicker on the top of her eyelid. This look is perfect for going to class, going out to dinner or just hanging out with friends.

Anyone can achieve this look easily. All you need is a great color eye shadow. When it comes to eyeliner, I recommend using an adjustable pencil because it is much easier to use.Next, apply face shimmer to give your skin that natural glow. To start off your eyes, apply the eye shadow evenly to the top of your eyelids while stroking it like a windshield wiper. Then take the eyeliner and line the bottom of your eyes very lightly. Take the eyeliner once again and line the top of your eyes making it a little thicker than the bottom. Lastly, to finish the look off, add some face shimmer around the apples of your cheeks and around the side of your eyes.

This week’s College Fashionista is a Jersey native who knows East Coast’s temperamental weather. One day you need a hat and gloves and the next day simple layering will do the trick. Today is one of those layering kind of days. This chic casual look calls for a simple make-up routine.

In this look, this Fashionista uses several different make-up brands including Nuetrogena, Covergirl, Sephora and Revlon. But my favorite part of her outfit is her eyeshadow! Eyeshadow is so versatile and they are so many different shades of even just one color. Google search eyeshadow for your skin tone and you will find great shades for your skin tone. This Fashionista uses a lighter olive shade to complement her olive tunic. There are several YouTube Beauty Gurus who know what eyeshadows complement their skin complexion. FacesbySarah has a great tutorial on the green smokey eye for darker skintones; while Facesbyvaish1 has two great videos–a pink and purple tutorial and a grey smokey eye tutorial. Green, purple and pink are great colors for darker skin tones because they create a great contrast with darker skin complexions. During my senior year of high school, the smokey eye was part of my daily make-up routine. Here is a great tutorial for those who are beginners to the smokey eye.

Combine any of the cute eye make-up tricks, rock a casual chic look and you are ready for a day filled with classes. For this Fashionista’s look, head on over to her favorite stores: Forever 21, H&M and Express. Start off with an Indian-inspired blouse and layer a tank underneath if the fabric is thin. Add black or darker color jeans. Finish the look off with tall black boots and simple accessories like a silver watch and mini silver earrings.

This week’s Fashionista's fashion motto is “if it makes you feel good, it must look good.” This is a great fashion motto, especially this time of the year when chucky sweaters and other knitwear are common. Chic attire comes in all shapes and sizes. So go put on that comfortable chucky sweater you have hiding in your closet! You will feel good and, according to this Fashionista, you will look good! ALL ABOUT BEAUTY: Perfect Plaits And Purple Pointers

I’ve had side swept bangs since my tweenage bible, Seventeen, told me that they are flattering for my face shape. Like many Fashionistas, I got accustomed to the look and decided to grow my bangs back out a few years later. I was in the awkward, are-those-bangs-or-short-layers stage until I finally decided to just cut them again—I never really made it to growing them out completely. During that incredibly weird time I would make a little poof at the crown of my hairline and pin the hairs back with a few too many bobby pins that, despite false advertising, are much more visible than I believed at the time. I’ll always be proud of my Jersey heritage, but seriously, where was this Fashionista’s stylish pinning during my time of need? I thought I was going for a Derek Lam model-esque cool, relaxed vibe, but looking back I clearly was headed more in the direction of a certain reality star who shall not be named.

Today’s Fashionista took a simple but totally innovative approach to pinning bangs back. She simply braided those bang-layer pieces, pinning them back loosely and spritzing with a light hold hairspray. Her flawless blonde and caramel highlights keep her look natural and put together.

Dark polish is always a perfect addition to a chilly day—essie has some intriguingly sinister variations in wicked and devil’s advocate. For an even more luxurious effect, try a sparkly topcoat over your favorite winter base color. Even more important than an awesome nail polish is keeping your skin resistant to the brutal winter winds that suck out all of the moisture. A favorite childhood trick of mine is smothering your hands in Vaseline and putting socks over them before bedtime. By the morning, you won’t have any more cracking fingers or scaly palms. Throw a mini lotion into your everyday bag to ward off any midday dryness.

An extensive beauty routine in the dropping temperatures isn’t necessary to stand out. Using simple steps, like changing up your bangs or using a bold polish, is really the best way to effortlessly keep up a chic beauty routine.
