Have you ever been so bored with your hair that you seriously contemplated chopping it all off? Getting a short haircut can be extremely frightening to some Fashionistas, but there are always those brave souls that walk into the salon and don’t even flinch when 10 inches of their hair fall to the ground. I have personally always liked myself better with short hair. I think it suits my style and it allows me to concentrate all effort into my daily outfits.
We are seeing short hairstyles on everyone these days, from actress Michelle Williams to Teen Vogue beauty editor Eva Chen, who recently chopped her locks into an oh-so-trendy bowl cut. Short hair is even taking over the runways, which are usually dominated by long hair. Models such as Agyness Deyn have been seen rocking short pixie cuts as they strut their stuff during couture shows.
I spotted this Fashionista in my art history lecture at the beginning of the school year. Each week in lecture she caught my eye in her chic yet relaxed ensembles and short sweeping hair style. I felt a connection with her as a fellow girl with short hair but envied her ability to eliminate any possibility of a ponytail and really take it short!
Now, I know what you're thinking: there are some of us who just can’t pull off this short of a hairdo. But this Fashionista should at least be your inspiration to go shorter, even if it’s just a few inches. Go short or go home, that’s what I always say.
