ALL ABOUT BEAUTY: Pretty Pedi

Every Fashionista anticipates sandal season for the obvious reason of wearing cute sandals. But another great part about ditching clunky boots and closed-toe heels for open-toed wedges and espadrilles in the spring and summer months is the opportunity to indulge in a pedicure. Like I always say, “a pedicure is to sandals what shaved legs are to a miniskirt.”

Okay, so I have never actually said that, but the statement is so true. Presentation is important and for most Fashionistas this means each look has to be put together perfectly from head to toe. As a Fashionista fully devoted to the necessity of the weekly mani-pedi, I am aware of the satisfaction that comes from walking out my front door in the morning with a perfect outfit and a flawless manicure and pedicure to match.

I have a class twice a week with this Fashionista and have noticed her immaculately painted fingers and toes on multiple occasions. Last week I was envious of her matching mani-pedi in a coral hue, and when she walked into class on this particular day her classic look consisted of a striped Parisian T-shirt, a tan British belt and cuffed jeans that allowed my attention to be directed to her bright turquoise pedicure. While feet aren’t always associated with beauty, I truly believe that this Fashionista’s commitment to a flawless pedicure only accentuates her overall Fashionista-ness!

We all know that it is all about color this season, and the trend doesn’t stop when it comes to your nails. This Fashionista chose an eye-catching teal color.  To get a look exactly like hers, try OPI’s Mermaid Tears or essie’s Turquoise & Caicos. For other spring polishes, try OPI’s Brights collection or essie’s spring 2012 collection. If you're doing your mani-pedi at home, be sure to pick up a pedicure kit from your local Target or CVS to get the professional look!
