This week, I truly had trouble writing my post about my 'Boutique of the Week,' but that’s only because every time I’ve gone in to talk to the staff at LF, they’ve always helped me find must-have items that fit my style. Whenever I want to find trendy pieces with a unique twist, I know I can always count on LF. They have everything I need for a new outfit from head to toe, and their pieces always have such unique shapes. Even LF's layout is different and laid back from other stores – there are shoes scattered throughout the floor, and jewelry pieces and headbands can be found on random tables. However, there is a method to the madness. LF has an antique, rustic feel, and many of the tables are organized to fit a certain look, whether it's military chic, strictly vintage, or feminine grunge. In addition, the store receives new items every week, making it easy to stay on top of current trends. It's no wonder that celebs like Khloé Kardashian, Whitney Port, and Brittany Snow have been spotted shopping there. Jeffrey Campbell even designs some of his shoes exclusively for LF. However, the shoe designers (Sam Edelman, Dolce Vita, Zigi, etc.) are the only names I’ve recognized. LF is best known for carrying up-and-coming domestic designers and even some rising designers from countries such as England, France, Italy, and Spain.

Now is definitely the best time to see what LF has in their stores. Not only are they having their only sale of the year right now, but they also just received all of their fall merchandise. So not only can you get all denim jeans from their spring/summer line for $48 (when they were originally $156-232!), but you can also stock up on other key pieces for this season, such as black leather over-the-knee boots or gray jeggings. In addition, all of their spring/summer merchandise is at least 60% off. I personally scored a floral bustier dress and some high-waisted corduroy shorts, both for $36 each. Now, I'm seriously lusting after a Please Enjoy All Seasons leather bomber jacket. The best part about all of the pieces in store right now is that they can all be easily transitioned, no matter the season, with just the right layering.

I had Olivia, one of the LF employees, model what pieces from the new collection she thinks will be the store's best sellers, and I asked Caryn, the store manager, what she believes will be the biggest trends this season. "Shorts with lace stockings will be popular, since fall is all about transitioning and layering. Anything with fringe and oversized pieces will be big as well, especially the cape-like knits. College girls can just throw them on on a cold morning and go to class still looking good. " I also asked Michelle, an LF employee and Fashion Merchandising major from F.I.T. what she felt would be popular this season. Her answer? "Jeggings are still big, and definitely leather jackets and leather vests. Anything with cut-out shoulders will also be popular for fall."

I highly recommend checking out what LF has to offer. LF has two locations in the city (149 Spring Street and 150 Fifth Avenue). However, my favorite LF store is in Scarsdale, which is only a 15 minute Metro North train ride from Fordham. For a list of LF store locations near you, check out
