CollegeFashionista X American Eagle Outfitters Advertorial: Spring Break Exclusive

Saying I like to travel is an understatement. I LOVE traveling and learning about new cultures, fashion, and life outside of my bubble. As Spring Break lurks around the corner we have partnered with American Eagle Outfitters to discuss five major Spring Break cities and the best of the best at each location. We chose a savvy Style Guru, who is queen of each location, to give you her inside scoop on what to do, where to shop, what to grub on, and, most importantly, what to wear while on Spring Break.

Stay tuned this entire week and hear from Melisa, our University of Miami Style Guru, chat about her go-to spots in sunny Miami. Lizbeth, our Whittier University Style Guru, will take things up a notch and tell you what's hot (and I mean hot) in Cancun. For those of you city Spring Breakers, Toby, our Columbia University Style Guru, has you covered in her ultimate NYC guide. Zosia, our University of Texas Style Guru, will report on a laid back Spring Break in Austin and how real University of Texas students party. And to close the week, Jacqueiln, our SCAD Style Guru, will give you tips on hitting the Grand Canyon and how to have an educational yet fun Spring Break.

Of course, as a well-traveled Fashionista myself, I had to leave you all with my favorite things to do in each city. So relax, let loose and bring on SB 2012!

Be sure to follow American Eagle Outfitters on Facebook and Twitter for updates on their favorite Spring Break attractions in these five cities.

Miami: There is nothing I love more in Miami than soaking up the sun and enjoying the insanely beautiful and big beach. During the day, kick back in South Beach and catch some rays, checking out the good looking people and overall trendy scene. If you aren't a beach fan, try the W South Beach pool for a chic and exclusive pool scene. If you need a little break from laying out, head over to Lincoln Road or my absolute favorite Collins Avenue for some world class shopping. When the sun goes down and your ready to dine, head downtown to Zuma, a delicious Sushi restaurant, filled with great bites and tons of people watching. If your ready to hit the clubs, LIV at Fontainebleau is the spot to be. Get ready for a crazy, long night of dancing and a true Miami experience.

Cancun: If you're heading to Cancun for Spring Break, be ready for the time of your life. Celebrate your break from classes at The City Beach Club, where having the ultimate swimsuit and cover is a must. Just because you are in Mexico doesn't mean the shopping isn't as great. La Isla is filled with posh boutiques and fun eateries. Be the ultimate tourist and head to dinner one night at Señor Frogs for the shenanigans and yard sized (virgin) piña colada. If you are looking for a more sophsiticated dinner, try dine dining at Harry's for the best salads, steaks and mini desserts. Don't leave without snacking on the super-sized cotton candy!

NYC: If you've made the decision to head to NYC for Spring Break, you've made a wise choice. “The City that Never Sleeps” is always alive with galleries, museums, shows, and some of the best shopping the world. My favorite daytime activity in NYC is heading to the Upper East Side to catch the latest exhibits at The Frick. After wandering around this intimate museum take a stroll through Central Park to get a moment of peace in this insanely hectic city. For shopping, I love Soho's cobblestone streets and amazing boutiques. For those adventurous Fashionistas, head over to Brooklyn for the best vintage shopping located around Bedford Avenue. When it comes to dinner, there are infinite amount of options. Try Alta, The Dutch, The Darby, Kuma Inn or Mulberry Project– just to name a couple of my favs. And if you have a sweet tooth like I do, you must stop by Dylan's Candy Bar for the largest selection of candy I have ever seen!

Austin: If you love the outdoors then heading to Austin for your Spring Break couldn't be a more suitable option. During the day check out Barton Springs, a natural hot spring, that makes for a fun daytime activity. If you are looking for a great place to lunch, try Abel's on the Lake for Texas Tea and then take advantage of the gorgeous lake for a little boating adventure. For those of you love live music and want to see where UT students hang head over to 6th street for a Madri Gras celebration that lasts 24/7… literally. For those shopping lovers, I recommend walking along 2nd street for speciality stores.

Grand Canyon: The Grand Canyon might not be the typical place to head for Spring Break but once you see a sunrise in the Canyon you will know your made the right vacation choice. This destination is definitely for those you love hiking and spending time in parks. Start off your morning at El Tovar Dining Room located on the rim. Get ready for a day full of adventure as you embark through the Grand Canyon on various trails. Depending if you choose to head to the South or North Rim your activities will vary slightly. Regardless, enjoy this trip for the grounding experience it will bring and your ability to breath in nature's beauty. If you adore camping, this is definitely the place to stay on the grounds. Bust out your favorite childhood camp songs and let the wilderness take you away!
