TREND: Crop Top Cool

With summer waning, it's time to try those summer trends that you never got a chance (or were too afraid) to wear. One of these great and seemingly difficult-to-wear trends is the crop top trend. When I first heard crop tops are back, I immediately thought of the neon belly-baring short tops from the 80's- definitely not something appropriate to wear around campus! Although I’m sure those crop tops are probably seen frequently at MJQ (a local nightclub), a more school-friendly way to wear this trend is the way our Fashionista this week has worn it. Pairing her pink crop top with a high-waisted chambray skirt allows her to get the unique crop top look without showing too much skin on the way to class. The great thing about crop tops is that you can show skin if you want, but you definitely don’t have to in order to get the full look of this trend. With the small details of the pearl white flat sandals and the white rose necklace, this outfit is a perfect back-to-school outfit that takes advantage of the nice weather we’ve still got here in Atlanta. Some other ways to get this crop top look without being too daring is to wear a crop top longer on the sides, so it only shows a sliver of skin in the front, or wearing a crop top with a tank. This trend can even be taken into fall with crop sweaters that can be worn in the same ways.
