Palais Garnier or the Garnier Palace is probably the most famous opera house in the world, a symbol of Paris like Notre Dame cathedral, the Louvre museum or the Sacré Coeur basilica. The opera house that seats nearly 2,000 is the setting to the famous novel The Phantom of the Opera. The building’s style is monumental and considered typically Beaux-Arts. It is decorated with a central chandelier and extravagant friezes, columns and lavish statuary.
This Fashionista is dressed up for a night at the Opéra. She wears a beautiful coral strapless dress from Anthropologie. The dress has a sweetheart neckline with pleating details and a bubble hemline. Every summer coral color makes its way onto the runways and every Fashionista/o can’t get enough of it. Coral is one of those colors that flatters almost any skin tone. She is wearing elegant heels that look identical to the iconic Yves Saint Laurent ‘Jane’ sandal.
As for accessories, the Fashionista keeps it simple by wearing a pearl bracelet and silver dainty rings. For the evening out, she has her black ruffle clutch to carry her necessities like her cell phone, credit cards and of course her ticket to the performance at the Opéra. This Fashionista is dressed simply chic just like the Palais Garnier. She keeps her outfit simple and lets the clothes speak for themselves, just like any good Parisian woman would.
The iconic building has inspired numerous of other opera houses all around the world, like the Thomas Jefferson Building and the National Opera House of Ukraine. Hopefully this Fashionista has done the same and will inspire your look the next time you attend a posh event.
