FASHION FROM ABROAD: Classy and Cool

London has been unseasonably warm for the past two weeks. This may sound strange since it is technically summer, but London does not get very hot, let alone stay hot, for this long. For a country that believes minimally in air conditioning, the indoors don’t bring much relief. Through all that, there are still Fashionistas/os who manage to look cool and classy.

Take this Fashionista I ran into near Liverpool Street Station, for example. She managed to dress weather appropriate, while still looking classy so that she could go right out after a day in the office. As a note, quite a few British businesses allow for a more relaxed professional dress code than we might see in the United States, which allows the Fashionistas/os of the city to be creative with their style.

This Fashionista did just that by pairing a dainty floral blouse from Bershka with a kate spade new york metallic cross-body bag and ballet flats she picked up on a trip to China. Her black shorts, also courtesy of Bershka, create a neutral backdrop allowing her to mix a few different trends. Floral prints big and small are popular on any piece of clothing and by tucking in her floral blouse, this Fashionista goes from casual to classy.

Metallics are a great way to accent your look if you prefer to keep things more neutral. They add an edginess to any outfit, and when worn in small doses, they are completely acceptable in the office. To differentiate, metallic/liquid leggings are not work appropriate, whereas metallic flats are perfectly acceptable.
