FASHION FROM ABROAD: J’adore The Dress

While doing some sight seeing around Paris, I walked by where the Dior haute couture show was taking place. That was the closest I’ve ever been to a designer fashion show! Looking at all the trendy guests walk in, I was mesmerized. Later, I made a point to read up on the looks in the 2013 collection from Dior. The creative director drew inspiration from around the globe, mixing materials, patterns and bold color to represent Parisian chic, American sportiness and Asian tradition.

In a world attuned to fast fashion, we can still pause to dream of extreme luxury. After reading up on the Dior show, I spotted this Fashionista walking through the Jardin du Luxembourg. I was intrigued by the bold pattern on her simple shift dress accessorized with a little lift from her black strappy wedges. When I asked this Fashionista about her dress, she told me she found it at a boutique in Paris and was drawn to the pattern and fun color. A dress like this Fashionista’s would make a bold statement at your next summer event! Another great thing about a statement dress is that it easy to put on and can be worn to a daytime barbecue or for a night of dancing. Rebecca Minkoff has great pattern dress that can transform from day to night.

To make your basic summer dress go from from flat to fabulous, try some bright colors and patterns. This season, bold neon hues have hit the fashion world, winning great popularity. I’m totally on board with the giant mirrored pattern trend. Not everyone can jet out to Paris so check out this sequined pattern dress from Anthropologie. I think it’s fun and I love the kaleidoscope feel and color combinations.
