As a primary Floridian resident and a current junior at the University of Florida, I spend most of my time relishing the heat (and no, I don’t mean the infamous Miami basketball team). This type of weather condition has caused me to adapt my personal style to it, to say the least. As much as I would love to wear fur vests, knee-high boots and basically anything leather, suede or velvet, my surroundings limit me; instead, my wardrobe consists of an infinite number of cut-off jean shorts, graphic T-shirts, and Nicole Richie-inspired sunglasses.
My style is heavily influenced by my mood. If I'm feeling edgy one day I will dress with a more rocker vibe, but the next day I could dress totally feminine or super preppy. I enjoy the standard department stores (try and find something better than Saks), I but also rely on smaller stores such as Intermix or Urban Outfitters to find certain statement pieces. I also can’t visit home without a quick visit to my neighborhood LF; I prefer a mellow spring break in fear of missing their semi-annual 60% off sale.
I’ll be the first to admit it: I can’t live without my Us Weekly and Star magazine updates on the Kardashians. However, Elle and InStyle are my Bibles. While half of my Internet time is dedicated to Facebook, I enjoy browsing fashion blogs such as Man Repeller and Cupcakes and Cashmere with the other half.
I am a firm believer in the idea that one's personal style is the best way to express him/herself. I look forward to the opportunity to share different styles from around the globe to all the Fashionistas/os out there.
