Here in Rome, classic accessories are extremely common on the locals. Women wear simple jewelry that often looks timeless. While traveling so much, my watch has evolved into an everyday necessity more than a fashion accessory. The piece that has caught my eye recently, has been gold watches with a vintage vibe. I am a big fan of the larger (Michael Kors men’s) style watches, but these offer a more subtle touch of femininity. I found these Fashionistas sporting their vintage gold watches while studying in Rome.
The first Fashionista pictured is wearing an truly vintage watch found at a thrift store in Philadelphia. The watch strap wraps twice around her wrist giving it a totally original look. Her denim blazer is from a store in London and similar styles are currently at H&M.
The second Fashionista is rocking a similar watch from Urban Outfitters. It is simple while still having an edge to it. Her black studded blazer was a steal at Zara, she sports Levi’s jeans and Kenneth Cole boots. I am obsessed with her gold drop pearl earrings that she made! The watch and blazer really give her laid back levi’s a pulled together look that is appropriate for so many occasions.
Hint: Check out your local thrift or vintage store for gold style watches; dead batteries can easily be replaced.
