Studded shirts, studded shorts and studded sandals: they’re all over the place right now and I love this rock 'n' roll style on pretty much anything. From accessories to blazers, and especially on shoes, the studded trend is here to stay.
This week’s Fashionista was keeping cool in the 90 degree heat with her lightweight T-shirt and a simple pair of denim shorts, although what inspired me to snap a picture were the shoes. These tan ankle booties are not only perfect for summer because of their height, but also because they make great use of the latest stud trend.
From Sam Edelman’s Lorissa heel to Jeffrey Campbell’s Lita boot, countless designers have been adding a touch of studs to lend edginess to their latest looks (Lady GaGa even gave her black Hermes Birkin bag a studded makeover). To try out the trend I love balancing the casual style of a pair of high-waisted denim shorts with an edgy studded blouse. What’s even better is that this is also an extremely easy DIY idea! Just grab an old pair of shorts or buy an inexpensive blouse and follow one of the countless and tutorials online to add your own flair with some studs.
With a trend like this it’s important to remember to keep it simple, just a small touch of studs can make any part of your outfit pop. So keep in mind that the studs themselves are enough to dress things up and take the look from simple to chic in an instant. Just one of the many reasons why I love the style.
