My personal style has taken a nostalgic turn recently as ’90s fashion has been influencing my personal style. This trend became apparent on the runway when designers such as Saint Laurent, Dries Van Noten and 3.1 Phillip Lim all featured collections reinterpreting and modernizing this vintage look. From grunge styled flannels to ripped tights and combat boots to the girly maxi dresses and floral prints, theses items seen on the runway proved that ’90s fashion has returned.
But if there were one trend from this era that is definitely making a comeback this season, it would have to be denim jackets. I spotted today’s Fashionista sporting the denim trend in a more modernized look that is perfect for the summer. This outfit is very much present day, but with just a hint of the past. Denim jackets are a classic staple piece that have been around for years and can accessorize any look, whether your fashion sense is tomboyish, edgy or girly.

How To: This Fashionista’s throwback look is effortless and chic. First, choose a striped maxi dress that is perfect for the summer weather. Next, channel your inner ’90s girl and layer a denim jacket over the dress. Then, finish the look by adding a simple pair of sandals and accessorizing with a cross-body bag.
