FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Madison Rohde

Dresses are a summer must-have. They are the best combination of easy and elegant; there is truly no reason not to wear them. They work in every situation: from the beach to work. Also, they instantly make you look put together because of the fact that the entire outfit is relying on one article of clothing. In the daytime it is easy to pull of strapless dresses, but when it turns dark my favorite thing is to throw on a tunic dress and rock it. This Fashionista did just that.

Name: Madison Rohde

Year: Sophomore

Major: Spanish/International Studies

CollegeFashionista: Who are your style icons?

MR: Olivia Palermo and Cara Delevingne. Olivia’s style is so chic and fresh. I love Cara because she always looks chic and just edgy in jeans and a tee. I adore Leandra Medine because she’s not afraid to wear what she wants and she looks awesome doing so.

CF: How would you describe your style?

MR: I would describe my style as comfy casual with a bit of boho, intermixed with classic pieces.

CF: What is your favorite accessory?

MR: I love statement watches. I love cool, unique bracelets. I love ironic arm parties. I think it looks so cool to mix and match completely different types of bracelets. Madewell came out with a bunch of cool neon friendship bracelets this summer and they look awesome with my Giles & Brother cuff. I love big, tough, badass bags, too. I am quite obsessed with my studded Alexander Wang satchel.

CF: Who are your favorite designers?

MR: I love all things Free People and Antik Batik. They both have a similar vibe that is girly and whimsical and fun. Also, they both have clothing that is extremely comfortable.

How To: Get out there and find yourself the coolest, most insane printed dress. You’re also going for the less-is-more look regarding jewelry with this outfit. A simple necklace and watch can bring a modern twist on the tribal print of the dress. Don’t forget to find some wedges or, if you’re feeling bold, some booties!
