Having the perfect fall jacket can pull together any outfit. While walking across campus this week, I noticed a variety of motorcycle, denim and leather jackets. For me, fall fashion is about finding staple items to incorporate into your wardrobe, and statement outerwear pieces are the perfect place to begin. Not only do jackets like these help you stay warm, but they also help distinguish individual style.
Name: Sarah Zaccardo
Major: Communications and Psychology
Year: Sophomore
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Sarah Zaccardo: I am wearing an American Eagle Outfitters jean jacket but I also saw a similar one made by Free People. I’m also wearing a basic white T-shirt, my favorite black leggings and white high-top Converse.
CF: What patterns or colors do you like to incorporate into your wardrobe?
SZ: I tend to wear a lot of basic colors, like black, white and gray because they go with everything. I don’t typically wear any patterns that are too bold, but I really love comfy plaid flannel shirts and anything with denim.
CF: What is your favorite outfit you have now, and why?
SZ: My favorite outfit right now is any combination of boots, leggings and a light fall jacket because it is put together but comfortable for class and walking around campus.
CF: Where do you usually shop?
SZ: I love to shop at Urban Outfitters, Aritzia and Bloomingdale’s.
How To: Ready to look trendy for class like this Fashionista? Start with the perfect fall jacket. I’m loving simple denim jackets with a touch of leather. Layering is key for chilly weather so try wearing a tank top and a cozy thermal under your jacket. Finish off your look with a pair of tailored oxfords.
