Sequin embroidery was a phenomenon of the past and one I wish would revive itself again. Dressed for a day sitting in lecture, today's Fashionista defined 'Geek Chic' with her vintage-isque ensemble and oversized frames. Her short, blunt bob was the icing on the cake of her hipster aura.
While sequin embroidered garments might not be popping up in retailers, heavy sequined skirts and jackets surely are. Jenna Lyons, J.Crew's Creative Director, recently unveiled their fall 2011 collection that is equipped with the glamour of sequins. Once seen as a relatively tacky item, Lyon's proves to consumers this detailing can be done sophisticatedly (point and case here).
