FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Adriana Gonzalez

When in doubt, keep it basic! This week’s Fashionista shows us how we can stay chic on campus with neutrals. Often times as daring Fashionistas/os, we like to get creative. But sometimes creative can come off as busy, especially for the classroom. This week I spotted a Fashionista that wasn’t afraid to keep it basic and let an accessory take center stage.

Name: Adriana Gonzalez

Major: Business Administration

Year: Senior

CollegeFashionista: What defines your style as your own?

Adriana Gonzalez: I would like to say it is my own because I incorporate different trends and ideas into one unique style. I love the bohemian and classic-chic looks. Those are two styles I like to blend two to create a wardrobe of my own

CF: What is an essential piece of your wardrobe?

AG: Scarves, I love wearing them. Oh, and I can’t forget my Tiffany & Co. earrings and bracelet!

CF: How have you seen your style's personality grow since the beginning of college?

AG: I wouldn’t say my style personally has drastically changed, but I find myself keeping up with quickly changing trends and styles via blogs like Kourtney Kardashian’s, Glamour Magazine and CollegeFashionista.

How To: What I admire about this Fashionista’s look is how she allowed her delicate scarf be the focal point. Instead of creating a look that was busy, she stuck to the basics. To recreate this crisp and clean look, start with this silky taupe button-down by Chloe from NASTY GAL. You can either slip into a pair of classic black leggings like this Fashionista, or opt for a pair of white wash skinny jeans by 7 For All Mankind. Either option works great when paired with these Steve Madden boots in cognac — talk about a great contrast! Next, for your statement piece, an ombré scarf. And lastly, instead of lugging those heavy textbooks across campus in your arms, throw an adorable canvas rucksack over your shoulder.
