Cut-off denim shorts in November? Almost unheard of right? Not down here in the dirty south where the temperature is almost as temperamental as the Cameron Crazies (Duke's legion of loyal basketball fans). There's something that is astonishingly vindicating about putting on a pair of shorts when you know that you should be pulling out your shearling boots and peacoats. I'm certain this week's Fashionista feels the same way! I caught her en route to class in a pear of flattering high waist denim shorts, an army green silk-crepe tank, a House of Harlow 1965 pendant and a stylish pair of motorcycle boots. Her funky ensemble is perfect for days where the weather permits you to pull out those blue jean shorts and tank tops.

AH: Simple, sophisticated, trendy.

How To: It’s not too difficult to pull off this outfit for you Fashionista’s who are blessed with warm weather during the autumn months. The key pieces in this week’s Fashionista’s outfit are her shorts, great motorcycle boots and pendant. Look for a pair of cut-offs that have a high rise. This basically means the waistline hits directly underneath your belly button. Try to experiment with washes and edges, like this pair of Sun Down Shorts by Insight. These shorts have a high waist, bleach blue with raw-cut edging. Check them out on For a great pair of motorcycle boots try to choose ones that you are willing to invest in and that suit your style. A great pair of leather boots should be a pair of shoes that you wear over and over again and that go well with your wardrobe. Pick a sensible color (taupe, black or brown) and make sure the gold or silver accents go well with other items in your closet. I’m very fond of these ankle-length, chestnut-hued leather boots with gold accents from Jeffrey Campbell. For the adventurous Fashionistas, I would recommend checking out these Bone Suede Studded Moto Boots by Ash. As for the pendants, check out the label that designed the funky Aztec pendant this week’s Fashionista was wearing – House of Harlow 1960. Head over to the House of Harlow 1960 site and check out their latest collection, which features pieces like this Tassled Chevron Necklace!
