The Fashionista who always stands out is the one with the eye for accessorizing. Take cues from the famous Man Repeller herself, Leandra Medine, who fearlessly adorns her neck and wrists in vibrant colors and sparkle. I spotted this Fashionista on Bay State Road and was instantly drawn to her quirky take on a look that is very reminiscent of Parisian understated sophistication. She started with a classic canvas: a black and white striped T-shirt, a cropped black skinny pant and a camel colored leather jacket. She allows her look to pop with touches of hot pink, royal blue, turquoise, neon green and red. Her style aesthetic may be simple, but it is definitely far from dull!
Name: Ariana Pappas

AP: I love Zara, Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. Those are my favorites.
CF: What are a few of your favorite designers?
AP: Definitely Miu Miu and Prada. Also everything YSL.
CF: Favorite item to wear in Boston during the winter?
AP: Scarves! I have a lot of pashminas in different colors. They go with everything.
How To: To get this Fashionista’s look mix basics with unexpected pieces and bold colors. Stripes may have been a mega trend of the summer, however black and white stripes are forever a classic. Try this long sleeved black and white striped thermal from J.Crew paired with black skinnies and this leather biker jacket from ASOS. Channel your inner Elvis with your very own pair of blue suede shoes… well, ballet flats from Madewell to be exact! From her Prada sunglasses to turquoise handbag and collection of bracelets, she definitely achieves the “more is more” when it comes to accessories. Yet, by far her most interesting pieces are the black and hot pink knotted belt from Urban Outfitters and red lightning bolt pendant from Fab Fashion Show 2011. Check out this studded belt by Vince Camuto and visit ModCloth for whimsical necklaces when recreating this look.
