FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Ashley Yaraghi

There's definitely something to be said for girls that can properly rock the Ray-Ban aviators. They seem to be the classic pair of sunglasses for guys, but it makes me so happy when I see the ladies pull them off, too. This Fashionista not only successfully wore them, but she looked sassy and fabulous while doing it. Her duffle coat really brings the outfit together with its shades of green and brown, creating a simple look that's comfortable to stroll to class in.

Name: Ashley Yaraghi

Major: Graphic Design, Minor in Art History

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: Where do you get your fashion inspiration?

Ashley Yaraghi: Honestly, I guess I get inspiration from everywhere — my friends, blogs, magazines, music and movies. My favorite blogs would be The Blonde Salad, Man Repeller, and We Can Pretend. I really enjoy design magazines; I love the colors and forms they use. Rihanna is a huge influence for me in fashion also. As for movies, my favorite is Love Actually — it's a modern day Audrey Hepburn with an English twist, I adore it! Also, anything Camilla Belle wears.

CF: Love the purse! Where did you get it?

AY: Thank you! It's by Vince Camuto.

CF: How do you take risks with fashion?

AY: I like to take risks by mixing textures and different silhouettes from different style types, like mixing preppy with rocker. Also, I guess I try to take risks by using colors all year round. I hate the idea that by wearing all black you're considered trendy.

CF: What are your favorite college-friendly places to get clothes?

AY: I'm obsessed with ASOS! Free shipping and returns, what more can you ask for? Plus, they have great inspiration ideas in their lookbook. LF is a favorite store, but I usually just shop there during their big sales. More college-friendly stores would be Zara and H&M.

How To: This Fashionista's look is simple. Start with a knit sweater and a pair of jeans, then pull on your sparkly flats and duffle coat. If you like this Fashionista's bag, check out a similar one by Vince Camuto. Now you're set for a sassy day at school!
