Finals week is appraoching fast, and it's becoming more and more difficult to avoid that tempting drawer of sweatshirts. With caffeine and class notes buzzing through students' brains from sun-up to sun-down, the last thing on their mind is what they're going to wear the next day. But this week's Fashionista shows us how the staples from your closet can be transformed into an ensemble that's just as comfortable as your sweatpants…without the slouch.
Sophomore Caitlin Tyrell pairs sleek black leggings with a blush pink blazer and breezy Burberry scarf. Perfect for library to exam commute, a pair of simple (or statement) leggings are the ultimate option for days of stressful schedules and late-night studying. Turning casual comfort into fashion-forward, Caitlin pairs her combination of leggings and boots with an oversized blazer to spruce up her look effortlessly. Finished with a statement watch and gold wrap bracelet, this Fashionista's ensemble is both finals and fashion friendly.

CF: Where do you typically look to for style inspiration?
CT: New York City streets, going into Manhattan, observing other people.
CF: If you had to whittle down your wardrobe to five items what would they be?
CT: Definitely jewelry, like my watch. Then after that probably shoes, a blazer and a scarf. I also really like the evil eye bracelets.
CF: Is there a trend you're looking forward to wearing this spring?
CT: I really like 2012 Burberry collection. I like their new boots they have for summer.
CF: What is the best style advice you've ever received?
CT: Something about simple accessories probably. I worked at Abercrombie for years and they told me every day that you make a simple outfit amazing by accessorizing well. I definitely agree with that now.
CF: Has living in NYC influenced your style in any way?
CT: Definitely. I'm definitely more outgoing with my fashion sense, because I know I can get away with more here. I love seeing people at sample sales and such dressed totally crazy and It makes me want to try that.
How To: Transform the urge to stay comfortably casual by pairing sleek leggings with an oversized blazer like this week's Fashionista. Try out this season's tapered weekend pant with a button-up blouse and ballet flats for another finals-week-friendly alternative.
