This week's Fashionista combines comfort for the classroom with a dose of feminine frill. Freshman Dani Drummond mixes versatile staples like a solid-colored cardigan with the whimsical print of a floral mini-dress. Paired with knee-high brown riding boots and an ivory skinny belt to tie each element together, her ensemble is not only accessible for everyday wear, but also versatile enough to make the transition from day to night. Pairing winter's favorite riding boot with a spring-ready sundress, Drummond brightens up her in-between-season staples with colorful prints and accessories to make the transition from snow to spring a seamless one.

Name: Dani Drummod

Major: Psychology

Year: Freshman

CollegeFashionista: Where do you typically look for style inspiration?

Dani Drummod: I use the city as inspiration because there's so many different types of style available to you.

CF: If you had to whittle down your wardrobe to five items what would they be?

DD: Leggings, a loose V-neck, boots, a belt and a chunky sweater.

CF: Has living  in NYC influenced your style in any way?

DD: It definitely has. I guess it makes me less afraid to wear different things. Everyone dresses so differently, each in a unique way, so it makes you less afraid to try new things.

CF: What do you feel most confident wearing?

DD: Probably a dress, because you always feel nice in a dress!

CF: What's an addition you'd like to make to your closet at the moment?

DD: A leather jacket.

How To: Try mixing last season's staples with spring pieces by pairing a floral sundress with a chunky cardigan. Add flourescent accesories or statement shoes to spring your ensemble to life!
