Fall is in full effect according at Duke! Though the weather in Durham is still warm, this fashionista, a senior at Duke, couldn't wait to pull out some of her favorite pieces for autumn. She decided to dress the part and pulled out some of her favorite neutral pieces like her fabulous olive pants and classic peanut butter and cream leather tote! She also decided to stick to light layers when transitioning from the humid outdoors to the chilly classrooms. Another great thing about this fashionista is her love for details! Those amazing silver leaf earrings, her understated leather tote and the patent leather black flats takes her look to the next level.

CollegeFashionista: What inspired your outfit?

Deborah Arnold: Even though Durham has summer weather well into September, I was excited for fall and decided to dress the part. I fell in love with olive last season and couldn't wait to pull out these pants. I tend to gravitate toward neutral colors in my wardrobe, which I think is more than apparent with this look!

CF: Where do you draw your inspiration from?

DA: I'm a little obsessive in my blog reading. I have a giant folder full of looks I like that I find on the internet. Mainly, though, If I'm in a store or shopping online or walking around campus and something catches my eye, I'll find some way to incorporate it into my style. I don't think I'm so trendy, but I like to look polished.

CF:How do you try to stand out on Duke's campus when it comes to your style?

DA:I don't want to wear something that I think everyone wears so I look for details that make a piece different (like a button placket all the way down a top, lace or stripes). I also like to use accessories to add some flair to an otherwise uninspired outfit.

How To: Want to get this look? First thing's first, pull out your best layering tanks and sweaters. Then head over to American Apparel where they feature a fabulously form-fitting Riding Pant in Village Green. The deeper shade of green pairs perfectly with fall's deep and mysterious color palette, plus the pants are tight enough to tuck into boots yet long enough to wear with a pair of oxfords. As far as accessories, Deborah's earrings and tote really take her outfit to the next level. Look for metal accessories that have character like these House of Harlow 1960 Star Earring with Black Cabochon featured on Finish your look with a supple, leather tote like this BDG Pebbled Tote featured on Pull out those neutrals and let's jump into fall!
