FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Elena Kim

Denim will never go out of style, and each season it is reincorporated into the trends in a different way. Last fall, Chloé was showing denim shirts on the runway in a sophisticated, causal style. For fall 2011, Just Cavalli took a more lady like approach by incorporating the long skirt with a denim button up. The denim shirt is a reappearing piece from the '90s , with new takes and styling from todays generation. This Fashionista pairs her denim-on-denim ensemble with a graphic tee.

How To: There are many ways to wear the denim-on-denim style. You can model after Elena, or Alexa Chung by pairing light with dark. If you are hesitant, you can pair a jean shirt with black, or army green jeans. For an easy look for class, a denim shirt looks great with leggings and converses. This Urban Outfitters jean shirt is unique and can be worn with the leather shorts as seen or with a pair of skinny jeans. Whether you try the denim on denim style, or wear a button up by itself, be sure to experiment with denim on the top for a new take on the material.
