Denim jackets date back many decades, and, because of the recycling of trends, they are now back in style. With the recent happenings of Fashion Week, it is every Fashionista’s dream to see what will be in style for the next season. At New York Fashion Week the denim jacket trend was spotted on the runway of Amy Smilovic’s label, Tibi. Many celebrities have been photographed sporting denim jackets, so it is no wonder it has become such a ready-to-wear staple item.

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit
GG Palmer: I am wearing a white dress from Urban Outfitters, a denim jacket from good ol’ J.C. Penney, a blue bow from American Apparel, tan bootie wedges from PacSun with purple socks and a Betsey Johnson necklace.
CF: Where do you look to for fashion inspiration?
GP: Madonna. I also really like to read Nylon so I get a lot of inspiration from there. I will also see outfits on Tumblr that I really like and therefore try to put together myself.
CF: What is one item in your closet that you cannot live without?
GP: I have two. The first being this denim jacket and two, my orange cropped turtleneck from American Apparel.
CF: What are three words you would use to describe your personal style?
GP: Eclectic, edgy and very 80’s.
How To: With fall just underway it is sometimes hard to wear something you will be the perfect temperature in. This Fashionista has dressed for fall with perfection. First, start with a sundress that was a staple in your summer wardrobe and pair it with a denim jacket. Next, look for a fun sock and shoe combination. This can be done with bootie wedges, booties or even flats. Add some extra flair to your outfit by adding a fun bow in your hair or an excessive amount of jewelry!
