I’m sure most of you CollegeFashionistas have noticed that wedges are the it shoe this season! They can go from simple black like Steve Madden to snake skin patterned like Jeffrey Campbell. This Fashionista's chiffon blouse also displays another current trend: stripes. Designers like Prada and Céline have featured striped tops, skirts and dresses in their recent runway shows. Stripes, which verifiably flattering on almost anyone, have proved to be just as much of a staple as classic polka dots and plaid. Between this Fashionista's sky-high wedges and stylish blouse, I couldn't help stop her on the street!

Name: Gina D'Angelo

Major: Communication Studies

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit today.

Gina D’Angelo: I’m wearing skinny jeans and a striped blouse that I got last fall. I also have my favorite wedges on! I always wear them when I go out.

CF: What are your current favorite trends?

GD: I love heels- especially wedges. I’ve seen a lot of those this season so that’s been great. There’ s so many different styles and colors too. I also like the color-blocking trend. It’s such a fun way to wear different colors that you wouldn’t normally think of putting together.

CF: What or who is your main inspiration for everyday fashion?

GD: I like to read magazines so I get a lot of ideas and inspiration from there. I also go to my friends for fashion advice because they all dress so cute!

How To: Wedges can be paired with anything from skinny jeans to a sundress. Go for bright colored wedge when wearing a simpler outfit or to dress things up.  As the weather gets a little cooler, opt for pumps with a wedge like ones from Sam Edelman. If high heels aren’t your thing, you can replicate this Fashionista’s outfit by wearing a low strappy sandal instead. To complete this look, all you need is a great fitting pair of jeans, a bright cross-body bag and a striped top. This is a simple ensemble that any Fashionista could rock!
