One of the things I like about fashion is how trends from the past sometimes come back into style in a new way. As I was going to lunch from my job on campus this summer, I spotted this Fashionista wearing a light-washed denim jacket. Denim shirts and jackets are coming back, and while it went out of style for a period of time, I am glad to see others rocking the light denim trend again.

CollegeFashionista: What is your favorite summer trend?
Jackie Scully: I really like the lace trend because it is so feminine and pretty. I am also a huge fan of the neon trend, especially neon shoes and heels that are a perfect accent to any basic outfit. I really want to buy a pair of turquoise heels that stand out and make a statement; they are on my fashion wish list!
CF: Who is your celebrity style icon and why?
JS: I would say Emma Stone because she can pull off so many different looks and always looks polished and trendy. Some of her outfits are very wearable, while others are a little outside of the box, which is cool to see. She is a stylish, classy woman and a great role model for other girls, which I think is a really important part of being an icon as well.
CF: How would describe your overall style and why?
JS: Since coming to Villanova, I have definitely embraced the chic and preppy vibe of the Main Line. I like easy to wear pieces like dresses and flats that are more dressy, but still comfy. I really like shopping at Urban Outfitters because every time I go there I see so many things that I love and want to buy.
How To: There are many different ways you can recreate this look. A denim jacket, or even a denim button-down shirt, would act as great layering pieces for the summer. In general, floral prints have been a major trend for spring and summer. Floral skirts or dresses add a colorful print to an outfit, but also keep the look girly and stylish.
