So right about now I am ready for this dreary weather to be over and for spring to finally get here. The magazines are starting to show spring trends, and the stores are having major winter clearances. With the current recession, fashion is now all about how to incorporate your pieces from season to season. When I saw Jessie, I automatically thought how well her outfit can transition from winter to spring and how her ensemble embodies one of the major trends for spring, color blocking.

Name: Jessie Tobin

Year: Sophomore

Major: International Studies

CollegeFashionista: Jessie, What is your favorite season to dress for?

Jessie Tobin: My favorite season is definitely fall and winter because I love wearing all types of boots and layering my clothes.

CF: What piece from your outfit that you are wearing do you think you can transition over to spring?

JT: I would wear this green scarf in the spring because I love the brightness of it. I think that it also compliments my eye color and I think you have to choose colors based on what looks good on you.

How To: For Jessie’s color blocking technique, I suggest taking two strong opposing colors and pairing them together. For example, you can wear this striped shirt and pair with this cheetah scarf to mix up the patterns and colors. The great thing about fashion is that trends can be expressed individually and interpreted by a Fashionista/o’s own personal style. Color blocking and mixing patterns are both easy ways to spice up an outfit while creating a fashion forward look.
