I am in love with the geometric, cutout look. I think it can be both classy and fun — two of the many important necessities in fashion. You can wear a stylish cutout to dinner with friends, or throw on a pair of heels and go out on the town! Either way, it is a trendy and flattering look that is overflowing at college campuses across the country. I also have seen a mixture of cap-toed shoes of all different colors! Taupe with blue toe, tan with black leather toe, light pink with metallic toe — these shoes are a funky twist on classic shoes and I am obsessed. While thinking about all of these amazing new looks, I came across this Fashionista wearing the ideal jetsetter outfit. While heading to George Washington’s PanHellenic Recruitment “Pref Night,” I approached this PNM (Potential New Member) to see where she got her fashion inspiration!
Name: Julia Cranska
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing this evening? You look lovely!
Julia Cranska: My dress is Kimchi Blue from Urban Outfitters, so is my bracelet. My shoes are Steve Madden and my earrings are Forever 21!
CF: What is your favorite fall outfit to wear out with friends?
JC: I love sporting an oversized crochet and comfy sweater with leggings, my equestrian boots and a scarf. I stay comfy but am still up for anything!
CF: What is your favorite fall 2012 look?
JC: I really love fall vests. Denim quilted vests can be paired with anything. J.Crew has a great selection!
CF: What are your favorite accessories?
JC: I really believe that pearl studs can complete any day-to-day look, but I always keep a few chunky statement necklaces and earrings on hand for special occasions!
CF: What is one item that you cannot live without?
JC: As you can see, I can’t live without my little black dress collection! I have a few that are all a bit different. Wearing one is always tasteful and you never know when you’ll need to break an LBD out!
How To: To get achieve this look, or pull off any chic LBD, you must start with the perfect little black dress! I love the LBD collection at Forever 21! It includes several dresses with the high-neck and geometric cutouts, which you will be seeing a lot of in the upcoming seasons. I love the simple elegance to Julia’s earrings and also the ability to test out several different colors with LBDs. Jewelry like this can be found at stores such as Kate Spade and J.Crew — both sophisticated and funky. Finally, this Fashionista’s shoes pulled the outfit together, adding some color and spunk to the classy look. My latest find, Go Jane, has a great selection of fun shoes to go with any outfit, but especially your LBD!
