Lunch hour is typically a good time to wind down or catch up on homework for proceeding classes. For me, it’s an excellent time to observe the latest fashion trends on campus. I’m constantly searching for that one Fashionista or Fashionisto wearing a unique article of clothing. While there are many, chasing them down is somewhat of a battle but always worth the rush. I caught up with Fashionista Kristal Cade after her edgy ensemble caught my eye. We chatted about her personal style and where she turns for affordable pieces.
Name: Kristal Cade
Major: Criminology & Criminal Justice
College Fashionista: How would you describe your style?
Kristal Cade: Glam rock is my personal style – a little bit rocker, but still dainty and girly. People usually tell me I look like Rihanna and I guess I can see that. Sometimes I’ll buy an outfit from the mall and see her days later [in a photo] wearing something similar.
CF: Where do you shop?
CF: What’s a typical school day outfit like for you?
KC: I usually wear a skirt, fishnets, and an off the shoulder top. For hair, I usually wear knitted hats. They’re good for days when I don’t feel like doing my hair.
How To: College Fashionistas are constantly looking for ways to innovate their wardrobe. While celebrities have the luxury of tapping in on the latest high-end designs, many stores such as H&M and Forever 21 are constantly providing their shoppers with similar and affordable designs. Cade is a frequent shopper at both stores. For a similar Rock Glam look reflective of Cade's, try pairing a crochet top with a pair of destroyed denim shorts and pointelle detailed leggings underneath. Add a boundless amount of accessories and finish your look with a pair of rockstar studded shades.
