FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Lian Mosher

Long and printed or little and black, a dress is a dependable closet favorite that never fails the test of time. As the cherry blossoms emerge, so too do flirty frocks. Dresses have been spotted all over the city, tucked into boots or paired with cardigans for chillier mornings. Due to the winter-that-never-was, Washingtonians have had no trouble resurfacing their favorite shifts and maxis. On a summery spring afternoon, dresses were in full force around the GW campus. However, this Fashionista’s bold print and complementary accessories caught my eye immediately.

Lian Mosher: My personality is bright, and I can easily adapt to various situations and environments. I’d like to think that my style represents this aspect of my personality. l also love bright colors and vibrant prints. Usually you can't find me without an intense color, and if not through my apparel than through accessory or makeup. I am very open to trying new things and I feel like my style effectively portrays this.

CF:  What is the most versatile piece in your wardrobe?

LM: The most versatile piece in my wardrobe is my faux denim blazer from H&M. It can add a chic edge to any casual piece for a day out with the girls, or, with an added belt, help dress things up for date night. It's definitely a piece I can't go without!

CF:  If you could raid anyone's closet — a friend, family member, or celebrity — who would it be?

LM: If I could raid anyone's closet it'd be my friend's, Marjory Haraguchi's. She is the most stylish person I know, and I admire her daring taste and unique personality.

How To: Dresses have often been underestimated when it comes to versatility. By pairing a summer dress with tights, boots and a sweater, you can create an effortless look that transitions from season to season. If you’re in the market for a flirty spring dress that can double for fall, try a chic printed frock. If you like more simple, accessory-friendly dresses, look no further than a cool maxi. It's ideal for layering under sweaters in the winter or accessorizing with beaded jewelry in the summer.
