“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking,” quipped Miranda Priestley in The Devil Wears Prada. I couldn’t help but recall Miranda’s sentiment while flipping through new spring trends in Vogue. Flowers, really? Just when I had lost all faith in fashion's newness, some of my favorite designers, like Céline (Phoebe Philo never fails me!) and Creatures of the Wind, wowed me with bold, flowery prints. And just like that, I was a believer in flower power!

I spotted this Fashionista catching some rays on a gorgeous, spring-like afternoon. She was clearly ready for spring with her punchy blue cardigan, Pinkyotto floral dress and Jeffrey Campbell booties. Topping her outfit off with oversized shades, she looked anything but unoriginal.

Name: Lilly Feinberg

Major: English

Year: Sophomore

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?

Lilly Feinberg: My style is sophisticated and feminine.

CF: What are your favorite college budget friendly stores?

LF: In D.C., I get unique dresses from Violet in Adams Morgan. Alexandria, Virginia also has some nice boutiques for things everyone else doesn't have.

CF: Are you looking forward to any upcoming spring trends?

LF: I love the faded colored jeans look that is coming this spring. Bold pastel colored skinny jeans add a girly touch to what would have been a plain outfit, had the jeans been a standard blue wash.

How To: Connect with your inner hippy in this flowered maxi skirt. Add a simple top, like a denim shirt, to balance off the printed bottom. Add booties or sandals depending on the weather. Accessorize with some sunglasses and a satchel, and voilà! A look a million girls would kill for!
