Ombré is a trend that CollegeFashionistas began to notice not too long ago, both in hair and in fashion. Designers like Alexander McQueen, Tory Burch and Diane Von Furstenberg have utilized this fading technique. From tops to dresses and pants to jewelry, ombré is a stylish trend for this season. This Fashionista wore an ombré tunic that faded from gold to charcoal gray. By keeping the rest of her outfit simple, she was able to let the bright gold shine and just add a long vintage necklace.

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit.
Liz Rabens: I’m wearing leggings and black leather boots from Nordstrom from a few years ago. I’m also wearing an ombré tunic and a vintage necklace.
CF: Who is your style icon and why?
LR: I really like Rachel Bilson. She’s usually more casual, but always looks cute. I like looking on Piperlime and seeing “Rachel Bilson’s picks.” It’s a good way to find inspiration for outfits based off different style icons' favorite items.
CF: What is your favorite trend?
LR: I absolutely love boyfriend watches! They are a great accessory to almost outfit and they’re perfect for layering a lot of bracelets. I like my oversized boyfriend watch with girly dresses because it adds a different feel to it.
How To: Looking for something ombré shouldn’t be too difficult this season. For the holidays, look for an ombré dress and pair it with tights. For class, an ombré top, scarf or cardigan would be perfect to rock this trend.
