School-girl just went from cute to chic! This Fashionista tapped into her inner grade school self, but with a twist. Her peasant-inspired top paired with her patterned mini skirt, boots and hobo bag is the ultimate upgrade from school-girl to college-girl, making her this week's CollegeFashionista. Perhaps a 21st Century nod to Britney Spears' 1998 video Baby One More Time, this Fashionista perfectly updates and modernizes the collared button-down and pleated skirt with her re-vamped ensemble.
Name: Maddie Hendricks
Major: Dramatic Literature
CollegeFashionista: Where do you find inspiration?
Maddie Hendricks: I find inspiration in other people — whether it's my closest friends or strangers at a coffee shop. I find people to be more fascinating than anything else.
CF: What's your favorite thing in your closet and how do you wear it?
MH: My cocktail ring. I wear it every day, but take it off whenever I wash my hands or sleep. It goes with every outfit and spices up even the most boring jeans and t-shirt.
CF: Favorite trend of the moment?
MH: Missoni-inspired items. I normally hate it when designer brands explode all over department stores everywhere (Target, Forever 21, H&M, etc.), but for some reason I really enjoy watching people who would never play with fashion explore new territory with their Missoni-inspired colors and patterns.
