When chic and trendy meet, it looks a little like an outfit put together by Fashionista Michelle Enriquez. Seen around campus in business casual, flair fun and sophisticated styles, Enriquez has a talent for finding casual items and dressing them up as a look that’s best described as downtown chic. This week I sat down with Enriquez to discuss her source for inspiration and her current favorite clothing items and accessories.
Name: Michelle Enriquez
Major: Criminology & Criminal Justice
College Fashionista: How would you describe your style?
Michelle Enriquez: Dressy casual. I like to look good, but be comfortable at the same time.
CF: Where do you draw inspiration for outfits?
ME: Lauren Conrad. She can put leggings and a blazer together and make it look hot. It’s simple but “wow.” I also look at the styles from Forever 21. I’m inspired by ASU students; they motivate me to dress up. My friends Michele Rink and Michelle Lauer also inspire me.
CF: What’s one clothing item you’ve been wearing a lot lately?
ME: Dark denim. It makes your legs look great and you can pair it with anything. I like straight leg or boot cut.
How To: Looking classy is always in style. As Enriquez mentioned, she’s a huge fan of Lauren Conrad. To snag a look similar to Enriquez, look no further than the racks of Kohl’s where you can find designs by Lauren Conrad. LC’s line includes pieces such as a loose cranberry top, a ruffle chiffon skirt and a tiered embellished dress. For chic accessories, Enriquez mentioned finding her own at Charming Charlie and Avon. To complete any classy look, top it off with a thick headband like this mesh chain design by Juicy Couture.
