The weather in Melbourne is always changing its mind. One day it will be sunny, the next day it will be raining and if you're lucky you'll get two seasons in one day. That's why you will see Fashionistas like this one wearing winter pieces in the middle of what is meant to be summer. What I loved about her look was the way she accessorized. She wasn't afraid to wear standout pieces like her bag and shoes which make her outfit. I am usually not a fan of girls wearing heels out during the day but she proved by doing so added edginess and attitude to her otherwise all black ensemble.

CollegeFashionista: Who is your style icon?
Nabila Farhat: I am very versatile in my fashion and that flexibility means I have various fashion icons that inspire the way I style myself. Sometimes that inspiration can come from a music video clip, a photo -shoot in a magazine, and pictures I find on the internet. Individuals such as Rihanna, Rachel Bilson, Gwen Stefani, Carrie Bradshaw, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Kate Moss are my fashion icons because I feel that they incorporate different elements such as retro, glam rock, elegant and feminine together so well.
CF: How would you describe your style?
NF: I don’t like my style to be narrowed down into one idea or concept. For me fashion is about being able to work with different looks and to take items, whether they are in fashion or not, and make a look work. The most fun is taking one garment and turning it into an outfit. My styles is versatile, fun and edgy.
CF: How do you accessorise?
NF: I am not very big over doing it with accessories. I prefer the simple everyday look, but I think it is essential to have a good watch, handbag and sunglasses. I recently purchased an over-sized watch from Fossil and I haven’t gone a day without wearing it so far.
How To: For this look pair a nice pair of leggings with a simple top, throw on a chunky blazer or jacket and then accesorize with bold pieces like watches, oversize bags and contrasting boots
