While I adore the bright colors and statement jewelry being featured for this season, I was drawn to the simple yet fashionable ensemble of this Fashionista. Lace is a trend that has appeared on the runways of Dolce & Gabbana, Zac Posen, Nina Ricci and many more of CollegeFashionista’s favorite designers. Cheap Monday even featured lace pants in their Spring/Summer 2012 runway show. The femininity that lace can add to a top, skirt or dress has endless possibilities. The balance between this Fashionista’s feminine ivory top and urban-style chestnut boots is that of Free People or Anthropologie. This Fashionista shows that dressing simple can be a great option for those who believe that less it more.

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit.
Nicole Thomas: I’m wearing a white blouse with dark jeans and my new boots. I thought these boots would be perfect for fall because I can either wear them out or to class.
CF: If you could steal anyone’s style, who would it be and why?
NT: I really like Kourtney Kardashian’s style. She dresses very sophisticated with button-ups and blazers, but keeps with fun with bright red lipstick or an animal print blouse. She also seems to have a great collection of bags and shoes that I would love.
CF: What is your favorite store to shop at? Why?
NT: I like stores like H&M and J.Crew. They have a lot of basics, which is good but also trendy pieces. It seems like both stores make up more than half of my closet!
How To: This Fashionista is wearing a blousy lace-like top that can easily be resembled by similar tops found at Zara or Urban Outfitters. To go long with your top, there are many different styles of boots this season. A chestnut or chocolate brown would be perfect with a lighter top. To add just a little bit of color to this look, a Fashionsita should try a bright satchel in red. Structured bags are another staple item to look for this fall and can be just what one might need to complete a look.
